Have your child be a part of our exciting Summer Reading Program.  Infants through young adults are eligible to join.  Sign up in person begins Monday, June 8, for Plainview-Old Bethpage School District residents only.  Registration in person, please.  Proof of school district residency is required for each child registered.   All others may register starting Monday, July 13, space permitting.  

SEVEN EXCITING PROGRAMS ARE BEING OFFERED:

BORN TO READ INFANTS CLUB – INFANTS AND TODDLERS TO 17 MONTHS:
Parents will read to their child and keep track of the titles.  If you have read twelve books to your child during the seven weeks of the program, your child will receive a certificate, gift, and an entry into a special raffle.

BORN TO READ TODDLER CLUB – 18 MONTHS TO PRE-SCHOOL:
Enrollees receive a packet of fun activities for parents and child to finish together.  Complete the activity package and receive a certificate, prizes, and an entry into a special raffle.

SUMMER READING DELUXE - PRE-SCHOOL THROUGH GRADE 4 (GRADE ENTERING IN FALL):
This Summer Reading Program is a flexible, open enrollment "walk in" style program, lasting seven weeks.  Members will be encouraged to come in weekly to report on a book of their choosing.  A "listener" will guide them in their reports.  As an incentive, a prize will be given each week a child presents a book report.

SUMMER READING EXPRESS - PRE-SCHOOL THROUGH GRADE 4 (GRADE ENTERING IN FALL):
Read books at home and complete our forms.  After the third week, select a prize if you have read 3 books .  If you read an additional 3 books by the end of the sixth week, you can select another prize.  A bonus third prize may be selected if you read a total of  9 books by the end of the seventh week.

INCENTIVE MIDDLE SCHOOL SUMMER READING PROGRAM - GRADE 5 – 8 (GRADE ENTERING IN FALL):
Earn library currency while having fun reading.  School required reading will earn you extra dollars.  Read your book, critique it at home, and bring the book review form into Family Center.  Then go to the “library store” to select your prize. 

INCENTIVE YOUNG ADULT SUMMER READING PROGRAM - GRADE 9+ (GRADE ENTERING IN FALL):
Earn library currency while having fun reading.  School required reading will earn you extra dollars.  Read your book, critique it at home, and bring the book review form into Family Center.  Then go to the “library store” to select your prize. 

SLEEP AWAY CAMPERS - ALL GRADES:
Bring our summer reading packet to camp & return with your book reports in exchange for great prizes.
