businessCurrent business related materials that combine entrepreneurial resources, company information and assistance to investors.  It includes encyclopedias, business directories, industry statistics, Mergent manuals, and investment newsletters, like Dow Theory, Moneyletter, Motley Fool, No Load Fund X, S&P's Outlook, Value Line, and Wall Street Transcript.


healthThe Health and Medical section is for people seeking up-to-date, reliable information about a full range of medical topics and concerns.  It includes textbooks, the medical "sourcebook" series, encyclopedias, physician guides and drug handbooks.


Our law collection addresses the needs of professionals, students and the lay person alike.  It includes
McKinney's Consolidated Laws of New York Annotated, Supreme Court Reporter, United States Code Annotated, encyclopedias, legal forms and legal guides.


jobsThe Career - Job - Learning Collection consists of books on job descriptions, job search, resume writing, interview skills and test preparation guides for teacher certification, AP exams, SAT and graduate exams, GED, medical, law school and nursing exams. College catalogs and financial aid books are available.  Most of this collection may be borrowed for 28 day loan.



tax Our tax collection includes CCH Federal Tax Guide and guidebooks, Internal Revenue Code, and yearly income tax handbooks.

Jewish Genealogy

The Jewish Genealogy Society of Long Island, founded in 1985, houses many of their holdings at the Plainview-Old Bethpage Public Library including reference books, periodicals and the Arthur Kurzweil collection.  Some of the collection is located near the Reference Desk and Reference Librarians are available to provide access to the materials.
