The Library has 15 computers for the public which are connected to printers, located in the Reference Department. School district residents may use any computer; 6 are designated for use by non-residents. There are also two 15 minute express computers, with no printing available, for use by residents and non-residents. Printing: first 5 black & white copies - free; black & white copies - 10¢, color - 25¢ (no free color copies)
The Plainview-Old Bethpage Public Library is pleased to offer wireless Internet access to our patrons. Simply bring your wireless-enabled laptop or other device to the Library, turn it on and go. There is no charge to use the service and the best part is there is no waiting for an available PC! Our wifi system does not permit you to use VPN to log into another computer remotely.

Books Delivered to the Homebound
Anyone who is eligible for a Plainview-Old Bethpage Public Library card and cannot visit the Library due to illness or disability qualifies for the LIBRARY TO YOUR DOOR program. This program provides delivery and pickup of books by postal service.
To enroll, call 516 938-0077 X 241 for an application or print one from the link below. Once the application has been accepted, the Library will send up to three books each month based on your indicated preferences and/or specific requests. To return books, place them back in the original envelope and follow instructions for leaving the envelope for your mail carrier.
Services for the Visually Impaired
For people who can not read printed materials, there is the Talking Books program. Applications can be picked up at the Community Service or Reference Departments, requested by phone or printed from the website. Applicants can receive braille materials or digitally recorded books and a player delivered by postage-free mail directly and returned the same way. The program is run by the New York Public Library, Andrew Heiskell Braille and Talking Books Library. Call 212-206-5400 phone or 212-206-5458 TDD with any questions.

In the Reference Department, the Quiet Study Room is for independent study.
Quiet Study Rooms 1 & 2 - smaller rooms on the right
Can be reserved for 2 hour slots up to 1 week in advance
You can remain longer if no one else is waiting or has reserved space
Room must be vacated 15 minutes before the library closes
No food permitted
Quiet Study Room 3 - the large room, 2nd door on the left
First come, first seated policy
No food permitted
Only Plainview-Old Bethpage Library cardholders can reserve a study room.
Others can use space if it is not reserved
